Students can sign up for private or group lessons or participate in our weekly tuition free violin, viola, and cello classes, ensembles, and youth leadership program at two of our community strategic locations. Our program is inspired by the El Sistema model originated in Venezuela as an orchestral training program - its intention to instill excellent musicianship while effecting social change by offering dignity and purpose, as well as social, educational, and professional transformation to its students. We accept string students of all levels and ages from never having picked up an instrument to preparing for college auditions and beyond. All instruments come with the instrument, case, bow, cleaning cloth, and rosin. Cellos come with a rock stop. The rental fee is paid in one payment at the beginning of the school year in September. Violins and violas are $150 for a year and cellos are $300. General repairs and maintenance are included in your rental fee but if the instrument is unrepairable, you are responsible for the replacement cost. If for some reason you choose not to continue using your instrument for the whole year, you will be reimbursed the remaining rental fee.
